Utilities Link on Main Action Menu

  1. Users can now customize bureau-reported alerts by expanding the Utilities option on the main Action Menu and choosing the Alert Conversion link - this feature works in conjunction with the Convert Alerts service now available with this release. For example, if a request was pulled with a product that contained a TU HAWK alert, Trans Union might report "HAWK Available and clear" in the Alerts section of the Request Detail page. If a user felt this information was unnecessary or redundant, they could use the Alert Conversion feature to have the message read "HAWK delivered" instead. To enable this feature, click on the Alert Conversion link from the Utilities option. When the Alert Conversions page opens, select the Add a New... applet and click Alert Conv Group. Give this alert conversion group a name and Save Changes from the Action Menu. Once changes have been saved, click the Details link to continue. When the subsequent page opens, users will need to enter the original bureau alert type and alert message into the From: fields, and type in their desired, customized alerts into the To: fields. Once completed, users must Save Changes from the Action Menu in order for customized bureau alerts to be available. For examples and further information on Wildcard setups for bureau alert messages, users can select on either the Alert Definitions or the Alert Sample Conversions links for more information.

    Once users have any alert conversions setup and customized, they need to align the customized conversions to a product. This can be done by opening a product into the Product Detail page and selecting the Services link. Once the Services page opens, view the Additional Services section and check either the Selected or the Optional checkbox for the Convert Alerts service. When the Select Group drop down list appears, choose the group you created and Save Changes from the Action Menu. This action must be taken for each product that the user wishes to align an alert conversion to. A few items of Note:

    • At this time, if the user blanks out an alert, a blank alert will print.
    • The alert will print exactly how a user types it in: lowercase text remains in lowercase; uppercase text remains in uppercase, etc.
    • The alert in the From: section must be input exactly as it comes from the bureau in order to convert.

  2. When a user selects on the Utilities applet from the main Action Menu and chooses either the Name Conversion or the Narrative Conversion link, each set of name/narrative conversions will be ordered alphabetically by Description. When a user clicks on the Details link in either of these pages, each entry is sorted alphabetically by the From: field.
